Which file types does Omnifact read from OneDrive for Business?
Omnifact reads PDF, Word, PowerPoint, OpenDocument text and presentations, plain text, Markdown, CSV, and JSON files from OneDrive for Business, up to 500 MB per file. That covers contracts, policies, slide decks, reports, and meeting minutes. Excel workbooks are not indexed directly, but exporting key sheets as CSV makes them available in the Space.
Who can ask Omnifact about synced OneDrive for Business files?
Only the members of the Space into which the folders were synced. Space membership controls who can ask questions and see source citations. Because Omnifact does not copy individual OneDrive file-sharing permissions, you should sync folders meant for the whole Space and place confidential folders in a separate Space with restricted membership.
Where does Omnifact store documents from OneDrive for Business?
Synced files are stored and indexed inside the target Space in Omnifact so queries return fast, cited answers. The original files stay in OneDrive for Business under your Microsoft agreement. Omnifact is operated in Germany, business data is never used to train AI models, and admins can restrict Spaces to European or Europe-hosted models.
How do I connect OneDrive for Business to Omnifact?
An Omnifact admin enables OneDrive for Business once for your organization. You then link your Microsoft work or school account under App Connections in your account settings, and a Space admin picks which folders sync into the Space. In organizations with strict Entra ID policies, an IT administrator approves Omnifact once first.
